In an interview by a Greek media institution, on 10-8-2006, H.B. Patriarch Ignatius provided his vision on several issues in conjuncture with actual circumstances:

-                           In what concerns the message that H.B. would address to the world, he said: “Concern should be urgently focused on stopping violence which is killing, injuring and uprooting innocent children and women, destroying homes and infrastructures…you could see some of the victims of this horrible violence here in Syria where they could be able to find food and shelter and above all regain their dignity…we hope that some care would be given to these persons that God created on his image and example.. the Holy Bible teaches us to avoid anger, and war is anger, it is a blind force with no mercy .

-                           The most difficult moments through those difficult days were seeing images of dead, uprooted and wounded people, especially between children… what is terribly cruel is to see all the suffering of children who were born to represent life and future.

-                           We hope that efforts by Lebanese government will be fruitful.. and that the UN will remember that Lebanon was among the countries that founded this organization..

-                           Hezbollah party exists in Lebanon, it is represented by members in the Lebanese parliament ant government, so it is from the very reality of Lebanon.. it is respected by Lebanese in consideration of this reality.. As for Israel.. It will be the same Israel, taking the same kind of decisions, endangering Lebanon in war..

-                           When asked how wounds would be healed, H.B. answered: “when violence is stopped, when peace is established and when people recover their dignity.. As for us, we are seeking and applying all possible ways to ease the suffering of people hosted in our homes and institutions..”

-                           On the question about Christians living now under pressure between Muslims and Jews, Patriarch Ignatius said: “We are with Muslims and Jews.. We are the authentic and real entity in this region, even more than these two entities…Nothing could be realized if Christianity is not taken into consideration..  The spirituality of this region would be badly mutilated if Christianity is not given a crucial role in the future of Lebanon and Israel.
