During the visit of Rev. Jessie Jackson,  Chief of  U.S.A. African Civil Rights, to Patriarch Ignatius, on August 27, 2006,  details of the humanitarian task of Rev. Jackson  to the victims of violence in both Lebanese and Palestinian territories, were highlighted.

Patriarch Ignatius stressed on the religious brotherly relationships and national unity prevailing in Syria, underlying the importance of dialog between peoples all over the world.

In a press release, Rev. Jackson said that his meeting with H.B. aimed at exchanging views on his mentioned task , and on ways of contributing in efforts for detainees freeing.
