Ceremonies took place mainly at Arbeen village on Sunday April, 29, where H.B. Patriarch Ignatius was received at the village and St.Georgios church  entry with  expressions of joy and love by a large number of faithful, the church pastor, Father Daniel Nehmeh, and by administration figures of the region, in addition to the parish council members.

Accompanying H.B. were Bishop Louka Khoury, Archimandrite George Gilo, Deacon Ibrahim Daoud and Deacon Tawfic Haddad, with the participation of Archimandrite Youhanna Talli, head of  St.Georgios  Monastery, Saydnaya. Following the Divine Liturgy, the crowd went in a procession, blessed and headed by Patriarch Ignatius,  to St. Georgios  Hall, where the regional Sheikh joined the celebrations.

Important words were expressed in speeches pronounced by :

H.B., who said  “…I am proud to see faithful living as a family…the Church history began after the Lord Resurrection which transformed Christ Body  into a family …We are the land and  earth of this country…and as a community, (and community has never a negative echo, because everyone belongs to  some community, only those who exploit community and religion are to blame…) we are working on development for the benefit of our people and sons, and by sons we mean all those who are living with us in this country…”

The Sheikh of Arbeen said: “…We need not to come closer to each other as citizens, because we are really one entity, diversified but united…”.

Father Daniel said: “… Although Arbeen parishioners are the less numerous in Damascus, but they will be  indeed the most active and effective…”.
