St. Georgios Cathedral celebrated its first annual festival on May, 6, 2005, on the occasion of St. Georgios feast. Metropolitan Illya Saliba (of Hama) highlighted the importance of this event in the sermon he pronounced during the Divine Liturgy, especially that it coincides with the Paschal season and the National Martyr Day.

A carnival followed in the main neighboring streets, accompanied by fanfare from the church band.

The Cultural Committee invited to a gathering where different artistic activities were displayed, including paintings exhibition, theatre representations and cultural lectures.
