At the closing session, the participants issued a statement which listed the agenda points and issues raised. Of particular importance was the review of the Orthodox situation, especially in the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the preparation for participating in the Committee for Orthodox- Catholic Dialog, the situation in Antiochian Archdioceses overseas. The Synod examined the issues of pastoral care and theological formation and underlined the necessity of promoting these fields with proper support and assistance. At the national level, the Synod stressed on the importance of safeguarding the national Lebanese unity.
