All churches bearing the name Lady Virgin Marie of the Dormition celebrated their patron saint feast on 14-15 August, 2005:

 At Al-Mariamieh Cathedral, Damascus, H.B. Patriarch Ignatius presided over the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Bishop Ghattas with a number of Damascus clergy. In his sermon Patriarch Ignatius highlighted  topics relating to the unique blessing our Lady Marie has been the subject, since she was announced the Good News

H.B. stressed also on the mission of the bishop in securing the continuity of the church.

At St. Marie of the Dormition, Deir- Attieh, the Divine Liturgy, headed by Bishop Louka, assisted by father Hanania, father Sayyaf and deacon Daoud,  was  held in the evening of Aug. 14, 2005, where a large crowd of faithful gathered inside and outside  the church. This was an occasion for paying tribute to Mrs. Marie Chahhoud, for the valuable services she presented to the church. She was honored with a medallion and many gifts presented by the parish and Sunday School families.

At St. Marie of the Dormition, Zabadani, the Divine Liturgy, headed by Bishop Moussa, assisted by father Khoury, father Esber and deacon Tawfic, was  held on Aug. 15, 2005.

After the Mass, Bishop Moussa inaugurated the “Book and Icon” exhibition, organized by Sunday School members in Zabadani.
